For 12 years, I coached leaders and teams in schools and school districts on equity and inclusion, innovative learning models, and design thinking. At The Lab @ OPM, I translated the core principles of coaching for equity into my work with civil servants.

Coaching on Service Design

• Coached team of USDA WIC staff working to implement new nation-wide nutrition assistance rule on participatory and co-design practices in order to deliver critical guidance to state agencies.
• Coached team from the OPM Office of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility on service design to improve process for managing human resources DEI queries from across the federal government. This team used tools I co-developed on Design Criteria and Prototyping (large pdf) as well as Audience Engagement and Storytelling for Change (large pdf).

Coaching Strategy and Internal Training

In July 2024, I developed and delivered internal training on coaching, facilitation, and learning science to grow capacity of 30+ team members at the Lab. This Coaching Strategies and Principles document summarizes the work of Elena Aguilar, author of *The Art of Coaching, The Art of Coaching Teams, Coaching for Equity,* and The PD Book. It also merges the principles of adult learning with the Designing for Learning Cards, a tool from Transcend Education for analyzing how learning experiences align with the science of learning and development.
